Human Cultural Treasure Buddhist Woodcarving
The art of Korean woodcarving or mokjongkjang, like sculpture throughout the world has its roots in religious objects. Buddhist woodcarving sprouted from Buddhist roots in the Three Kingdoms era (57 BCE - 668 CE). Most Buddhist temples contain numerous wooden, stone or metal sculptures as well as paintings and other handicrafts inspired by Buddhism. You will meet Park Chan Soo at his beautiful Moka Museum near Yeoju.
